Interior
Interior work is where a project earns or loses your trust. Our finish crews are Rivco employees, not day labor. That means the same person who set your tile will come back to caulk it, and the paint edge you see in the guest bath will match the one in the primary.
Interior in the Chattanooga area — the short answer
Rivco Construction's interior division handles tile, hardwood, drywall, painting, trim, insulation, and custom cabinetry with in-house Rivco finish crews rather than subcontracted day labor — which is why finish detail stays consistent from room to room.

Every trade under one roof.
Tile
Bath surrounds, kitchen backsplashes, and full floor installations — set with the right mortar and grout for the substrate, not whatever's on the truck.
Drywall
Hang, tape, and finish to Level 4 or Level 5 depending on the lighting and finish. Repairs matched so you can't find the seam.
Insulation
Batt, blown, and spray-foam insulation specced to the wall assembly and climate zone. We insulate for R-value, air sealing, and moisture management — not just to hit code.
Foam Insulation
Open-cell and closed-cell spray foam for cathedral ceilings, rim joists, and hard-to-detail assemblies. Applied by certified installers.
Hardwood Flooring
Site-finished oak, engineered plank, and reclaimed heart pine. Sanded, sealed, and finished on-site — no factory sheen.
Carpet
Bedroom and stair carpet with proper tack strip, quality pad, and clean transitions. Installed by our own crew.
Painting
Interior paint with proper prep — sanding, priming, and cutting-in — not one-coat sprays over the old color.
Cabinetry & Millwork
Custom and semi-custom cabinetry, built-ins, trim, and finish carpentry. Face-frame and frameless — matched to the house.
A process you can plan around.
- 01Discovery call
A 20-minute conversation about the project, the site, and what you've been told before. No pitch.
- 02On-site walk
We come to you. Measurements, structural notes, photographs. You leave with a clear picture of what's possible.
- 03Scope & estimate
A written scope, itemized budget, and honest range. No hidden allowances that quietly balloon later.
- 04Contract & schedule
One contract, one schedule, one point of contact. You know who's arriving Tuesday and why.
- 05Build
Rivco employees on-site every day. Subs are vetted specialists we've worked with for years, not the lowest bidder.
Where we do this work.
Interior questions, answered plainly.
- Do you use your own crews for finish work?
- Yes. Our finish crews are Rivco employees, not day labor. The person who sets your tile comes back to caulk it.
- Can you do interior-only work without a full remodel?
- Yes — flooring, tile, drywall, paint, trim, and cabinetry can be scoped as standalone projects.
- What does custom cabinetry cost and how long does it take?
- Custom millwork is typically 12–20 weeks from approved shop drawings and often a $15–25K premium over semi-custom. We place long-lead orders during design rather than after permit.
- How do you keep dust out of the rest of the house?
- Negative-air containment, zip walls, floor protection on the circulation path, and end-of-day cleanup that is a contract line item.
- Do you install hardwood over existing subfloor?
- Only after we verify the subfloor. On the Murphy kitchen in Cleveland the subfloor needed full replacement — we found it before the flooring went down, not after.
- Can you match existing trim and finishes in an older home?
- Yes. Historic and mid-century matching is regular work for us across Chattanooga, Red Bank, and Rossville.
